1923
The Italian insurance company, RAS, established Şark Sigorta. The company initially began operations by offering fire and marine insurance.

1950-1970
Şark Sigorta added mandatory traffic insurance, as well as accident and life insurance to its product range in 1950s and engineering in 1960s.

1974
Şark Sigorta was merged into the Koç Group.

1980s
Şark Sigorta offered the first insurance packages in Turkey including "Tüm Ev Sigortası" (Comprehensive Household Insurance), "Özel Emeklilik Sigortası" (Private Pension Insurance) and "Tüm İşyeri Paket Poliçesi" (Comprehensive Business Package Policy).

1988
Allianz, the world leader in finance and insurance, and Tokio Marine, the biggest insurance company in Japan, became partners with Şark Sigorta.

1991
Şark Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. (today known as Allianz Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş.) was founded.

The company, which conducted life and health insurance operations under Şark Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. became the first insurance company in Turkey to offer "Limitsiz Sağlık Sigortası" (Unlimited Health Insurance) and "Birleşik Hayat Sigortası" (Integrated Life Insurance) at European standards. "Büyüyen Çocuk Sigortası" (Growing Child Insurance) was the first insurance policy specifically for children.

1998
Şark Sigorta A.Ş. and Şark Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. changed their names to Koç Allianz Sigorta A.Ş. and Koç Allianz Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. respectively.

2001
Koç Allianz Sigorta A.Ş. and Koç Allianz Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. adopted a central management policy.

2003
After the Private Pension System was launched in Turkey, Koç Allianz Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. changed its name to Koç Allianz Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş. and became one of the top 5 companies in Turkey in the field of private pension system.

2008
Allianz took over the shares of Koç Allianz, its partner under Koç Holding, making Allianz the holder of 84.2% of Koç Allianz Sigorta shares, and 87% of Koç Allianz Hayat ve Emeklilik shares.

As of October 7th, 2008, our companies run their operations under the names of "Allianz Sigorta A.Ş." and "Allianz Hayat ve Emeklilik A.Ş.".

2009
Allianz, published the web site   www.allianzrisk.com  in order to increase recognition of risk management and risk engineering concepts in our country.

2011
After the earthquake disaster in Van on October 23, 2011, Allianz realized a sustainable social responsibility project and had a primary school, healthcare center and lodgings constructed in Mollakasım Village, in Van.

According to the results of 2011 published by Insurance Association of Turkey, Allianz Sigorta made the highest technical profit.

2012
Allianz, offering various products in Property and Casualty, Life and Pension branches, as well as a wide range of contracted service providers and comprehensive policy coverage to its retail and corporate customers, is one of the most siginificant players in the sector, with its 1.656.780 policyholders by the end of 2012.

2013
The approval required to carry Allianz – Yapı Kredi partnership into effect was received from the Undersecretariat of Treasury and the Competition Authority. In July 2013 Allianz became the main partner of Yapı Kredi Sigorta and Yapı Kredi Emeklilik. The title of Yapı Kredi Emeklilik A.Ş. was changed to Allianz Yaşam ve Emeklilik A.Ş. in October 2013.

2014
The merge of Allianz Sigorta and Yapı Kredi Sigorta was finalized in October 2014. The activities of the companies continue under the name of Allianz Sigorta A.Ş.
